This privacy notice for Housepadi ( 'Housepadi', 'we', 'us', or 'our' ) describes how and why we collect, store, use, and/or share ('process') your information when you use our services ( 'Services'), including when you:

Download, install, or use the Housepadi mobile application.

Engage with us in relation to our on-demand services (such as meals and laundry), payments, or customer support.

By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this privacy notice. If you do not agree with this notice, please do not use our Services.

What information do we collect?

Account and contact information. When you create an account or use our Services, we collect your name, email address, and phone number, together with a password to secure your account. Your phone number and email address are also used to verify your identity through one-time passwords (OTPs) sent by SMS and email.

Address and location information. To deliver our services (such as meals and laundry) to the right place and to confirm we operate in your area, we collect your delivery address, including the precise or approximate location (latitude and longitude) you select or allow your device to share. With your permission, we may access your device's location to help you set or confirm your address. You can enable or disable location access at any time through your device settings.

Payment and transaction information. When you make payments or fund your in-app wallet, we collect transaction details such as amounts, references, and your wallet balance. Payments are processed by our trusted third-party payment providers (such as Paystack and Bani), and your card and bank details are collected and handled by those providers, not stored on our own servers.

Service request information. We collect details of the orders and requests you make through the app, such as meal and laundry requests, schedules, and any discount or referral codes you use.

Device and usage information. We automatically collect certain information when you use the app, such as device type, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), and push notification tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) used to deliver notifications to your device. On our website, we may also use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors interact with our site.

Analytics and advertising identifiers. We and our service providers (such as Google and Firebase) may use device and advertising identifiers to understand how our app is used, measure performance, and support analytics and marketing. You can reset or limit the use of your advertising identifier at any time through your device settings, and you can opt out of personalized advertising in your Google account settings.

How do we use your information?

We use the information we collect to:

With service providers who help us operate our Services, such as payment providers (for example Paystack and Bani), SMS and email providers used to send verification codes and notifications, push notification providers (Firebase Cloud Messaging), mapping and location providers (Google Maps and Google Places), analytics and advertising providers (such as Google and Firebase), and cloud hosting providers. These parties may only use your information to provide services to us and are required to keep it confidential.

With service partners where necessary to fulfil your request, for example to prepare and deliver a meal or laundry order to your address.

For legal and safety reasons, when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our policies, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Housepadi, our users, or others.

Data retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our Services and for legitimate legal, accounting, or reporting purposes. When your information is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most of your information directly within the app, or contact us using the details below.

Account and data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time through the account settings in the app, or by emailing us at info@housepadi.ng with the subject "Account Deletion". We will process your request in accordance with applicable law. Some information may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Children's privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can delete it.

Third-party links and services

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. This privacy notice does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
